    Epitalon Protocol: Anti-Aging and Longevity Guide

    Epitalon (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) is a synthetic tetrapeptide based on Epithalamin — the natural bioregulator of the pineal gland, isolated and developed by Professor Khavinson. It is the most extensively studied peptide specifically for longevity endpoints: telomere preservation, cancer incidence reduction, and immune function in ageing populations.

    Research context. Epitalon is a research compound. It has been studied in humans, but is not FDA-approved. The longevity data comes primarily from Khavinson's Russian clinical programme. This guide is educational.

    How Epitalon Works

    Telomerase activation

    Epitalon (tetrapeptide Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) is the most studied telomerase activator in research. It stimulates telomerase expression, reducing the rate of telomere shortening across cell divisions — the primary molecular marker of biological ageing.

    Pineal gland support

    The pineal gland produces melatonin and regulates the circadian clock, and declines significantly with age. Epitalon is derived from Epithalamin, the natural peptide fraction of the bovine pineal gland. It restores pineal secretory activity, leading to increased melatonin production.

    Melatonin regulation

    Improved melatonin synthesis is one of the most consistently reported effects of Epitalon, measurable within weeks. This produces downstream effects on sleep quality, circadian rhythm normalisation, antioxidant status (melatonin is a powerful antioxidant), and immune modulation.

    Immune modulation

    Epitalon influences T-lymphocyte function and NK cell activity. In elderly subjects, it partially restores immune parameters that decline with age — particularly relevant for cancer surveillance.
