Peptide Reconstitution Guide
Everything you need to know about safely reconstituting lyophilized peptides.
Reconstitution is the process of mixing a lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptide powder with a sterile liquid—typically Bacteriostatic Water (BAC water)—to create an injectable solution.
Peptides are freeze-dried to preserve their stability during storage and shipping. In this powder form, they can remain stable at room temperature for extended periods. However, to use them, you must reconstitute them back into liquid form.

- Peptide vial (lyophilized powder)
- Bacteriostatic Water (BAC water)
- Alcohol swabs
- Sterile syringes (3ml for reconstitution, 1ml insulin for dosing)
- Needles (18G-20G for drawing, insulin needle for injection)
Step-by-Step Process
Clean a flat surface with alcohol. Wash your hands thoroughly. Gather all supplies.
Remove the plastic caps from both the peptide vial and BAC water. Swab the rubber stoppers with alcohol and let dry for 30 seconds.
Using a sterile syringe with an 18-20G needle, draw your desired amount of bacteriostatic water. Remove air bubbles by tapping the syringe.
Insert the needle into the peptide vial at an angle, aiming for the side of the vial wall (NOT directly onto the powder). Inject the BAC water slowly, allowing it to gently slide down the glass.
DO NOT SHAKE. Gently swirl the vial in circular motions if needed. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes. The powder should fully dissolve into a clear solution.
Once reconstituted, store in the refrigerator (36–46°F). Most peptides remain stable for 2-4 weeks when refrigerated.
Critical Tips to Remember
Never shake the vial. Peptides are delicate proteins. Shaking can damage their structure and reduce effectiveness. Always swirl gently.
Inject water slowly and aim for the vial wall. Direct force onto the powder can cause foaming and degradation.
Use BAC water, not sterile water. Bacteriostatic water contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which prevents bacterial growth and extends shelf life once reconstituted.
Always refrigerate after reconstitution. Once mixed, most peptides degrade quickly at room temperature.
