Peptide Reconstitution Guide

    What is Reconstitution?

    Reconstitution is the process of mixing a lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptide powder with a sterile liquid—typically Bacteriostatic Water (BAC water)—to create an injectable solution.

    Peptides are freeze-dried to preserve their stability during storage and shipping. In this powder form, they can remain stable at room temperature for extended periods. However, to use them, you must reconstitute them back into liquid form.

    Why is Reconstitution Needed?

    Peptides degrade rapidly in liquid form. Freeze-drying extends their shelf life from days to months or even years when stored properly.

    Supplies You'll Need
    Ensure you have everything ready before starting
    • Peptide vial (lyophilized powder)
    • Bacteriostatic Water (BAC water)
    • Alcohol swabs
    • Sterile syringes (3ml for reconstitution, 1ml insulin for dosing)
    • Needles (18G-20G for drawing, insulin needle for injection)

    Step-by-Step Process

    Prepare Your Workspace

    Clean a flat surface with alcohol. Wash your hands thoroughly. Gather all supplies.

    Remove Caps & Clean

    Remove the plastic caps from both the peptide vial and BAC water. Swab the rubber stoppers with alcohol and let dry for 30 seconds.

    Draw BAC Water

    Using a sterile syringe with an 18-20G needle, draw your desired amount of bacteriostatic water. Remove air bubbles by tapping the syringe.

    Inject Water Slowly
    Critical

    Insert the needle into the peptide vial at an angle, aiming for the side of the vial wall (NOT directly onto the powder). Inject the BAC water slowly, allowing it to gently slide down the glass.

    Let It Dissolve Naturally
    Critical

    DO NOT SHAKE. Gently swirl the vial in circular motions if needed. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes. The powder should fully dissolve into a clear solution.

    Store Properly

    Once reconstituted, store in the refrigerator (36–46°F). Most peptides remain stable for 2-4 weeks when refrigerated.

    Storage Guidelines

    Before Reconstitution (Powder)

    • Store in freezer (-4°F) for long-term (up to 2 years)
    • Can be kept in fridge (36–46°F) for 3-6 months
    • Room temperature storage okay for weeks (check manufacturer specs)

    After Reconstitution (Liquid)

    • Always refrigerate at 36–46°F (36–46°F)
    • Most peptides stable for 2-4 weeks in BAC water
    • Never freeze reconstituted peptides
    • Discard if solution becomes cloudy or discolored
